Step by step
    UDID at a glance

The Unique Disability ID (UDID) is the central card issued via swavlambancard.gov.in. It is the single key needed for RPwD Act benefits, scholarships, school admissions, transport concessions and tax claims under sections 80U and 80DD.

    Watch-outs

    • Carry two sets of photocopies of every document; Medical Boards often retain originals briefly.
    • For autism and intellectual disability, the certificate is valid for life but mentions a re-assessment age. The card needs renewal at 18.
    • If the Medical Board's percentage feels low, you can request a re-evaluation in writing within 60 days.
    • Government-listed psychologists must use IDEAS, INDT-ASD, ISAA or similar standardised tools for autism and intellectual disability; clinic-only reports may not be accepted.
